Katie Wallace was born in Greenwood, Indiana and headed for Texas with her family at the age of 8. She began performing at the age of 15 and sharing her self written songs on the stage after tragedy struck when Wallace lost her mother and grandmother due to a car accident. She weaves tales of raw emotion, tenderness and sets a certain moodiness through her music. Her sound has evolved from classic country to indie-folk, alt suffused pop/rock.
Her debut single "In The Morning" premiered on the Spotify editorial playlist All New Country and dove her head first into the music scene. In 2025 she had the opportunity to open for country music legend Junior Brown and shared the stage with Ray Wylie Hubbard as a guest vocalist for a duet.
Her songwriting gained recognition when she wrote lyrics and melodies on tracks Two Lovebirds in a Cage, Baby I'm Ok and Cathedral for Grammy-nominated artist Kadebostany. This earned Katie features in Vogue Italia and placements for her songs on popular TV shows such as MTV's Catfish, Teen Mom, Project Runway, the film Game Of Love and landed her on the official Teen Mom 2: Season 8 Official Playlist.
Katie writes, records and produces all of her music alongside her husband Coleby Arnett in their recording studio, “222 Recording Studio”. Together, Katie, Coleby and brother-in-law Dalton Arnett perform as a family band trio live sharing her tales of love, live and experience with the world.
How did "Two Lovebirds in a cage come about, and what does it mean for you and your artistic trajectory? I always wanted to make a very romantic song. First, I composed several versions of this song, and then I worked with an artist from Texas called Katie Wallace: I had worked with her before, and Katie wrote the lyrics and the top line. I knew I needed a very special voice for this song - I sent it to Sena and she loved it, and the rest is history!
How would you describe this track, musically?
I was inspired by the classic artists of the 70's like Dolly Parton and Brian Eno. I wanted to capture that 70's feeling, and at the same time give it a super modern and timeless feel.
